Class guide
What to expect.
Descriptions and practical clothing guidance for the classes covered by the supplied
information.
Contemporary
Explore movement, musicality and expression. Dancers can develop confidence, technique and
individuality in a supportive environment, with each class tailored to suit the group.
What to wear: Comfortable, flexible clothing that allows
free movement. Avoid anything too revealing because classes may include floorwork and
rolling. Bare feet or suitable dance socks are ideal.
Musical Theatre Jazz
A fun, energetic class combining jazz technique, performance and musical theatre style.
Classes can vary from learning a full musical theatre number to developing jazz technique,
musicality and performance skills.
What to wear: Fitted, comfortable clothing that allows free
movement and lets the teacher see alignment and technique. Wear suitable dance footwear;
this may vary between trainers, socks and bare feet. Older students may develop their skills
in heels as the class progresses.
Commercial
Bring your own style and personality. Expect energetic choreography, strong performance
quality and a mix of commercial styles, with a focus on confidence, musicality and having
fun.
What to wear: Choose fitted or baggy clothing that feels
comfortable to dance in and suits your style. Outfits should be kept to black or white.
Ballet
A focused class building strong foundations in classical ballet through technique, posture,
alignment and musicality. Classes are structured but purposeful, with an emphasis on
fundamentals and confidence as students progress.
What to wear: Students should wear a black leotard with
ballet tights or shorts; a ballet wrap or fitted dance jacket may be added. Boys should wear
a black T-shirt or vest with shorts or trousers that are not overly baggy. Hair must be
secured in a ballet bun, away from the face. No jewellery. Bring a notebook and pen to every
lesson.
Vocals
Discover your own voice and build confidence in a welcoming, supportive class. Students
explore breathing, vocal warm-ups and technique while singing together, with introductions
to harmonies, solo work, song interpretation and expressive performance.
What to wear: Comfortable clothing that allows you to
breathe and move freely. Bring water.
Stretch & Strengthen
Forty-five minutes dedicated to strength, flexibility and body awareness in support of dance
training. Drawing on Pilates, yoga and conditioning, the class develops control, mobility
and stability to improve technique, movement quality and performance.
What to wear: Comfortable, fitted clothing that allows free
movement and stretching. Bare feet or suitable dance socks are ideal.
Fit Church
More than a fitness class, Fit Church brings people together through movement, music,
encouragement and community. Each session combines accessible fitness and movement with
uplifting music, a short reflection or encouragement, and time to connect over
refreshments.
Inspired by faith but not centred on religion, it welcomes everyone regardless of
beliefs, background or fitness level. Come as you are and move at your own pace.
What to wear: Comfortable fitness clothing and
supportive trainers. Bring water.
Good to know: Everyone is welcome. No childcare is provided; children
must remain supervised by a parent or responsible adult.
Pay as you feel / pay what you can: Contributions go towards the costs
of creating the new Vibe home.
